American Shohin

The American Shohin Bonsai Association (ASBA) is a non-profit educational organization providing supportive services and activities to encourage and promote the traditional art of Shohin bonsai throughout the country. ASBA was formed in 2008 to meet the needs of individuals wanting to learn more about Shohin in the United States.

NEWSLETTER/MAGAZINE: The newsletter is published six times each year by ASBA. It features current Shohin bonsai articles, as well as sources of bonsai-related materials available for sale. The newsletter also highlights upcoming conventions and shows where Shohin may be seen. CONVENTIONS: Currently, there are no plans to have an ASBA sponsored convention. The officers of ASBA believe that our primary mission is to provide educational materials through our newsletter and website on Shohin. ASBA officers and representatives may be seen at various conventions throughout the country to discuss the benefits of our publications and website. It is also our hope to present awards at major conventions to the best Shohin on exhibit and encourage the development of Shohin as an art in the United States.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: ASBA intends to develop programs focusing on the needs of various groups of individuals throughout the country, such as encouraging the interests of youths and people having disabilities, in the art of Shohin.

ASBA is currently seeking subscribers to its bi-monthly newsletter. The cost of subscription is only $20 and the newsletter will be sent to you electronically.
