Tree Selection

Our tree candidate must possess the following characteristics:

the trunk should be completely straight with no curvature (or minimal and hardly noticeable), which progressively thins and balanced toward the apex. The trunk should not move because they will be available to print branches of the movement.

the height should be from 1:6 to 1:8 stem diameter at the base, although this depends on the feeling of strength that we want to mark on the base of the trunk, which would lead to lower altitudes used with ratios of 1: 3 to 1:4 diameter of the trunk, but we would be moving away from huge ancient coniferous forests that we all know (sequoia, criptomerias, cedars, etc.. at the base diameter of 5 meters and 40 meters high).

the roots must grow around the base of the trunk, at least 3 to 5 significant roots, without any of them look completely at the front, creating an impression of stability. The part of the roots must sink hovering gently and gradually into the ground.

the branches must be located asymmetrically, forming a conical cup, well balanced. The first branch coming out of the trunk should be on the side and be the most important (length, thickness and foliage), reaching to 1 / 3 of the total tree height. The second (or third) branch must be born on the opposite side of the first following the same criterion, ie, reaching back to 1 / 3 of the distance between the first branch and the apex. The remaining branches, reaching to the apex, should follow this same approach in the trunk position, reducing its length and thickness as we approach the apex and forming a sort of spiral staircase viewed from above. The set as seen from the front, must clearly show different masses grouped in flats perfectly green, but some branches shade other.
