The perfection in the imperfect

The concept of Wabi-Sabi is derived from the tea ceremony developed by Sen-no Rikyu more than 400 years ago. In short, he said, Wabi is the kind of beauty that is caused by the right kind of imperfection, and Sabi is the kind of beauty that only comes with age.
In Shohin-bonsai and bonsai larger, Wabi-sabi is a Japanese concept of aesthetics. It is also an important feature of Japanese gardening aesthetics as well as other forms of Japanese art.
Bonsai is the result of an artistic discipline and technique that ultimately demonstrates wabi-sabi. Bonsai that contains the spirit of wabi-sabi allows our hearts will find peace, but no matter how excellent is the bonsai, we can not feel Wabi-sabi is not enough story there.
I think the West should understand the concept of wabi-sabi, in order to be successful with bonsai, i sso not mean we should neglect our own heritage, cultural values, personal expressions, or our ways of thinking about bonsai, but have an understanding of wabi-sabi, and bring it to the Western art of bonsai, the art will certainly improve.
Bonsai is the poetry. It is also an aesthetic expression that tells a story and evokes emotion. This is all related to the human being behind the tree, or people who see the tree because all art is related to the human expression . In bonsai, this expression is always closely connected with nature.
Many of the arts in China and Japan derive their aesthetic principles from Taoism and Zen Buddhism. These two philosophical traditions proved compatible with the culture and psychology of Japan
The hallmark of Chinese masterpieces of Japanese who are free from modern influence is natural and without restrictions, almost “accidental” appearance of the work. The artist works with wabi-sabi as a guiding principle, and harmonizes nature and its accidents universal.
Definitions of Wabi-sabi can never be accurate, but can be described in a number of ways.
