My 2 cents on Orlando

I had very “damped” views about Orlando, until my niece came over yesterday and showed me a couple of pictures. I was blown over. I thought it wise to make my confessions on my blog.

People who live in the Orlando area will say that there is life beyond the theme parks, crocodile farms and orange groves. You cannot walk far without encountering a picturesque lake and the area is full of small regional museums like the Museum of Fine Arts and Zora Neale Hurston in nearby Eatonville. In the center, the new Amway Center, home of the Orlando Magic gives impetus to the nightlife district on Church Street. Orlando and many districts have lounges, bars, restaurants, fast food and old-fashioned streets paved with bricks.

Orlando is not really an American Venice, but has about 100 lakes, many connected by narrow channels. On Lake Osceola, where you can take a boat for a cruise of an hour and this is considered the oldest tourist attraction in Florida.
